Senate Reports on Cannabis Out Tomorrow

Victoria, B.C.: Tomorrow the Federal Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs will release its final
report on cannabis on the first floor of the National Press Theatre at 150 Wellington Street
in Ottawa, at 11:00 AM.
After two quick cross-country tours, accepting presentations and reports from experts,
advocates and the general public, the Senate is expected to strongly reccommend the
end of the war on cannabis.
This much anticipated report is expected to argue that the only obstacle to legalization
is the US government. Cannabis advocates will use this 600 page report to defend actions
of medical distribution clubs, which are currently being raided across the continent.
Many are skeptical that this new document will be ignored, much like the LeDain Commision
created debate in the 1970′s without removing the laws before the renewed drug war under
the Reagans.
Focus will now shift to the Parliamentary Committee on Illegal Drugs which is investigating
the same issues.
