Beth holds a diploma in Fine Arts from the Alberta College of Art and Design. Has spent 2 years as Artist in Residence at the Victoria School of Art Therapy. Also a practicing Buddhist for 20 years (Society for Value Creation), involved with SGI International (World Peace Organization), and is also a member of the U.N. and Unesco. “I have been dedicated and involved in the arts Nationally for nearly 23 years. I raised two excellent sons myself, survived and not defeated by rheumatoid arthritis for 13 years.? Peace and legalization of marijuana activist. Loves to work in mixed media and found object art. “My goal is happiness, safety, health, and being creative as long as I live.?

Butch is an artist of the Songhees Nation. This powerful logo depicts Grandmother Moon, the Frog and two Otters. The grandmother role (elder) is an important icon in Aboriginal cultures. Gentle wisdom and affection stems from the elder grandmother. “The elders are the foundation and roots of our culture and they give us the power and spirituality to continue and flourish. The circle, the figures are arranged in speaks to the fact that there is no beginning or end in the power needed to sustain our culture.? The frog is a sign of new beginnings and rejuvenation. The Otters are symbols of power and our people went to these symbols for help in creating songs and spiritual power for the “Bighouse.?

Allan is 49 years old with four children. He has a bachelor’s degree in social work and believes in radical activism. He is involved in front line work with the impoverished and drug addicted through Cool Aid, AIDS Vancouver Island, SOS, and YES. His future goal is to help improve social conditions.

Jason studied for three years at the Victoria College of Art. He has painted several murals and works in a multitude of mediums. His hobbies include tattooing, sculpting, skateboarding and painting with his two girls. “My goal in life is to leave a trail of beautiful art behind me wherever I go.?

I am a self-taught artist with an interest in multi-mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolours, airbrush and pastels, as well as working with works in various formats. I am also a guitar player, songwriter, poet and writer of short stories.

My father was in the armed forces and we moved around a lot. I lived in Germany from 1959 to 1963. Moreover, traveling across Canada several times impacted my life and broadened my horizons.

We moved to Victoria in 1963 and I went to Esquimalt High and Camosun College for one year of university.

I worked at various jobs from a ditch digger (rock mucker) for Saanich Waterworks to a commissioned salesman for Woodwards, selling furniture and floor coverings.

My sister and I had a macular dystrophy of the cornea, which resulted in me being registered blind. I had two cornea transplants over a five year period. During this period, I studied art and music, which I am still doing.

I am single, in a common law relationship with my girlfriend Coleen. Between us both we have six kids and several grand children. Additional interests include repairing things, especially those made with wood.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, he has always had an eye for wood and “what it could be.? Roofer turned carver after a debilitating fall from a roof. “I’ve always enjoyed working with wood and my hands to create something. I always enjoy life and every day that comes forth.?

Steve spent much of the 1990s as a public activist for the Walbran Valley. Steve discovered the fourth largest yew tree in Canada. His art is strongly influenced by the beauty of the Walbran that he fights for. Currently, Steve is continuing with his activism by being an active board member of the International Hempology 101 Society. He is very concerned about our current cannabis laws as well as the endangered plant.
