Stolen plants lead police to seize nearly 200 Marijuana plants

A call about a break and enter near Falkland resulted in RCMP locating not only the suspects, but also nearly 200 marijuana plants.
The Falkland detachment responded to a 12:15 a.m. call of a break and enter in progress off of Salmon River Road Friday. On route to the scene, the attending officer located the suspect vehicle from the description, with the suspects as well as 101 marijuana plants in it.
“She locates them, finds all this marijuana in the vehicle and they tell her where they got it from,? said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP Safe Communities Unit.
RCMP returned to the property with a search warrant and found a remaining 87 plants.
The owners of the grow operation were also surprised to return to the site to find police cleaning up their crop.
They, along with the individuals who had stolen more than half of the initial crop, were arrested.
