THREE ARRESTED DURING GRASS-ROOTS RALLY
Cops nabbed three people for possession of marijuana yesterday among hundreds of hemp lovers rallying to liberate the drug and put an end to pot arrests.
As many as 500 Calgarians gathered at city hall for the annual World Wide Marijuana March in support of the drug and its medical and recreational uses.
The march was held in 200 cities across the globe, including for the first time in Calgary, Banff, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.
Police said, though the crowd was mostly peaceful and well-behaved, three people were arrested and charged for possession of marijuana.
