NORTH BEACH POT CLUB LOSES BID FOR PERMIT
A medical marijuana dispensary that has operated in North Beach for four years was denied a permit to keep its doors open by the San Francisco Planning Commission Thursday.
The Holistic Solutions dispensary was the first operating club to be denied a permit by the commission. Commissioners listened to the testimony of dozens of both supporters of the dispensary and people in the neighborhood, who complained about the dispensary’s proximity to schools and playgrounds and of patrons harassing people in the area.
The panel sided 6-1 with those wanting the club to close, with several commissioners citing the lack of support among the neighborhood as the reason for their vote.
