Cherniak Teaching 1st Hempology 101 Lecture

Victoria, B.C.: Renowned author Laurence Cherniak will teach about Cannabis Before Christ for the 1st class this year in the free, non-credit lecture series hosted by the UVSS Hempology 101 Club. Armed with a new edition of THE GREAT BOOK OF HASHISH, we are about to learn from one of the grandmasters of the cannabis movement. Laurence has traveled the world in search of cannabis, studying old and new ways of making hash. His knowledge of the ancient lore of hash making is unparalleled, having watching farmers collect the resins of the plant using methods passed down hundred of generations. His new book also covers new hash making techniques.
This is the 5th year the UVSS Hempology 101 Club has hosted a free, non-credit lecture series. The classes are broadcast live on the internet and most are saved on you-tube. Over the years several professors and advocates have helped teach the lectures, with most taught by the president of the International Hempology 101 Society, Ted Smith. The UVSS Hempology 101 Club is now usually the largest student club at UVic, with activities like the 22 lectures, weekly 420 gatherings, film nights and annual conventions.
Last year saw the formation of the Vancouver Island University Hempology 101 Club in Naniamo, where we hosted a couple of films, 420 meetings and a convention. This year we plan upon expanding to UBC, hosting a convention there this fall along with other events throughout the year. Eventually Hempology 101 will be organizing lectures, convention, film nights and other events at post-secondary schools around the world.
Laurence will be at the Hempology 101 booth during Clubs Days at the UVSS Building on Weds Sept 15 and Thurs Sept 16 and spending time later in the day at the headquarters of the Cannabis Buyers Clubs of Canada. He will have copies of the new edition of his book for sale. The lecture is from 3:30 to 4pm in the David Strong Building room C-112.
